"Star Trek" fans know John Billingsley for his four seasons on "Star Trek: Enterprise" as the alien Dr. Phlox. "True Blood" fans know him for his recurring role as coroner Mike Spencer.

Here Billingsley shares how happy he is to have the role, Shenendoah Cassidy, in "Intelligence" and that the show is being picked up!

"I'm delighted that 'Intelligence' has been picked up by CBS. I began working on the production in summer 2013."

Full details of the show are not yet known, but many sources, including Billingsley, give us some idea of what the show is about and when it will air (below).

'Intelligence' is an upcoming American cyber-themed action-adventure television series that is scheduled to air on CBS in the United States (not to be confused with another of same name in Canada)." - Wikipedia

Billingsley offered to share with what his character is all about.

"I'm playing the fella, Cassidy, who created and installed the technology that powers our wunderkind secret agent, Josh Holloway's Gabriel Vaughn. I suspect I'll be doing some gabbing about scientific stuff as well as ministering to the hurt feelings of my son on the show."

In "Intelligence," Shenendoah Cassidy's son is played by actor P.J. Byrne as Nelson Cassidy.

"My character's son is played by the incomparable P.J. Byrne, who (Byrne's character) is more than a little jealous about the attention and affection I lavish on our hero. Big surprise, P.J./Nelson, he's the series lead!"

Partial input of the show's plot includes describing cast member's roles, in this case Josh Holloway.

"Josh Holloway stars as Gabriel Vaughn, a high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With this implant Vaughn is the first human ever to be connected directly into the global information grid. He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies." - Wikipedia

"Intelligence" is currently scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on CBS. It will move to its regular time slot on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 13.
