John Alan Rogers is presently working on his book "Joe Roy Metheny - Southwest Baltimore Killer". The book details the murders committed by Metheny in the mid to late 1990's in the Southwest area of Baltimore known as Halethorpe in Arbutus.

Rogers is in direct contact with the serial killer and is using information from him, family members and court records to compile the book which is expected to be released in November, 2014.

The book covers the murders of Cathy A. Magaziner, Kimberly Lynn Spicer, Toni Lynn Ingrassia and the murders that he was acquitted of involving Randall Brewer and Randy Piker. Rogers also attempts to delve into the other murders that Metheny claims to have committed but police were unable to verify.
