Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Everville: The Rise of Mallory”?

Roy Huff: “Everville: The Rise of Mallory” is book three in an epic/urban fantasy series that originally started out as a three page college writing paper. I was encouraged by other classmates to turn the paper into a book, and after the first few chapters, I decided it would be a series. (read more)

JP: What sets “Everville: The Rise of Mallory” apart from other books in the same genre?

RGH: I believe ”Everville: The Rise of Mallory” has depth and purpose. It’s fantasy in the classic sense with a strong moral tale that is interwoven into the story. (read more)

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “Everville: The Rise of Mallory” getting out to the public?

RGH: The most important parts of getting the word out about my books is patience and a willingness to spend significant time marketing using an all of the above approach. (read more)

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “Everville: The Rise of Mallory”?

RGH: From start to finish it was about six months for the last two books, compared to two years with the first, but actually writing time is significantly less. (read more)

JP: What’s next for Roy Huff?

RGH: I will most likely write a stand alone futuristic scifi novel, which I will pitch to an agent. I expect to be done before the end of the Summer, then I will continue working on book 4 in the Everville series. I hope to have to fourth book out sometime between August and November of 2014.
