Joey Arias celebrates Valentine's Day with Love Songs at the Castro (Photos)

New York's spellbinding international downtown super/star Joey Arias swings into the Castro Theatre in San Francisco on February 14th for a Valentine's Day Concert X-Travaganza - JOEY ARIAS - Love Swings! This rare San Francisco appearance will showcase the varied and unique talents of Joey Arias. Part jazz singer, part cabaret chanteuse, part erotic mistress of illusion, part bawdy comic, always uniquely unpredictable, the NY TIMES describes him as "downtown New York's answer to Cher."
This evening of song and spectacle, presended by Marc Huestis Presents, will feature Arias singing songs of love with a sly touch of seduction - all in his own singular style. Opening the show will be San Francisco's own chanteuse Veronica Klaus - hot off of her CD release, of Something Cool. There will also be special guest appearances by the effervescent Connie Champagne, video by Leo Herrera, a VD fashion show by Mr. David and other swinging surprises! For VIP ticketholders an extra treat - a bubbly after-show reception with Joey Arias and other stars in the Castro Theatre Mezzanine.

A fixture of New York City's vibrant downtown performance scene for 30-plus years, Joey Arias is a NYC icon. He has performed with legendary musician Klaus Nomi, David Bowie and Grace Jones - originating the role of the Mistress of Seduction in Cirque du Soleil's Las Vegas spectacular Zumanity, and subsequently sold out shows in the critical and commercial hit Arias With a Twist, a show he co-created with master puppeteer Basil Twist.
