If you've been a fan of Halo since its creation, chances are you've heard the name Joe Staten before. He's held many titles from writer and director of cinematics on Halo and Halo 2 to writer of Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and ODST. Chances are, if you've played Halo to date, not including Halo 4, you have him to thank for the great experience. Today, Mike Ybarra, Studio Manager at Xbox, has announced that Staten is returning to Microsoft Studios and taking up the helm as Senior Creative Director.
"Thrilled to welcome back Joe Staten to the Microsoft Studios family," Ybarra comments.
On September 24, 2013, Staten announced his departure from Bungie and position as writer and design director on their upcoming title Destiny. It came as a surprise to many considering how close the title is to completion. He had been with Bungie since 1998.
"Helping to create incredible entertainment on XBOX," is all that he currently says about his new position.
His arrival is surely going to make big waves throughout the company. Staten is well known in the industry and is renown for his spectacular work.
