Joe Montana's son heads to Tulane to compete for QB position (Video)

Joe Montana’s son, Nick Montana is heading to Tulane University in New Orleans. During spring practice, he will compete for the starting quarterback position with teammates Devin Powell and Jordy Joseph.

Tulane announced this week that they received a letter of intent from Nick Montana.

Head football coach Curtis Johnson is pleased to have the son of Hall of Famer Joe Montana in the school's program, telling the Tulane Green Wave:

“We are very excited about the addition of Nick to our program … He was very high on our list for this year’s class. Nick is a highly intelligent player who has a very accurate arm and has incredible leadership skills, and he is a proven winner ... We believe Nick will have an immediate impact on our program.”

Nick Montana, 20, is a commanding 6-foot-3 and weighs approximately 215 pounds. Coming into Tulane as a junior with his sights on a business degree, he is enrolling for the spring semester. He will start competing for the job as Tulane's QB in the fall.

“I was sold on Tulane after my official visit," Nick tells the Associated Press. " I was very impressed with Coach Johnson and the coaching staff and I really liked the system and the direction the program is heading ... My expectations are very high and I am looking forward to joining the team and getting started this spring.”
