Joe responded, "I think it's me and a few others, but yeah." Ouch!
Joan then pointed out that he had dumped her over telephone, and that she had written three songs about it.
That's when Kevin Jonas jumped into the conversation, joking, "we still haven't seen the royalty check. It's weird."
Back in 2008, Taylor and Joe had particularly contentious breakup. The "22" singer claimed that he had dumped her over a 27-second phone call. As she explained, "The split was, like, a record, I think, for how quick. I looked at the call log – it was like 27 seconds. That’s got to be a record."
Joe, however, fought back against accusations of ungentlemanly behavior, claiming that she was the one who had ended the conversation. As he explained, "For those who have expressed concern over the '27 second' phone call, I called to discuss feelings with the other person. Those feelings were obviously not well received. I did not end the conversation. Someone else did. Phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk."
Still, regardless of who ended that conversation, he might have been better off taking the high road in that interview with Joan. If he's still taking digs at his ex after all these years, then it makes him look pathetic.
Is Joe's beef with Taylor justified? Or does he come across as petty for dissing her after all these years?
