Reports are surfacing that Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers has a serious drug addiction problem. The Jonas Brothers just canceled their new tour, only two days before it was set to begin. Now sources are claiming the real reason behind the cancellation was middle brother Joe's drug addiction problem, according to Radar Online on Oct. 16.
An insider told Star magazine that Joe Jonas, 24, has been dealing with a substance abuse issue for some time now. They go on to say that friends, family and even his management team have begged the pop star to seek professional help.
"The tour would have never survived with how Joe was behaving", the source said.
Joe, along with brothers Kevin, 25, and 21-year-old Nick, have portrayed themselves in the media as a wholesome band, including having once sported purity rings in support of no sex before marriage.
This despite rumors in March that a sex tape exists between Joe and girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler. Joe's rep denied that report calling it completely false.
As the brothers grew up, Kevin married, and Joe and Nick confirmed in 2011 that they had quietly slipped their promissory rings off.
Kevin and Nick supposedly aren't concerned with the cancelled tour or band matters right now, they are just desperate for Joe to seek help to get well.
Joe Jonas just may have done so, as he's been photographed recently with addiction specialist, Mike Bayer, who also worked with ex-girlfriend, Demi Lovato.
TMZ published pictures of Bayer, CEO and founder of Cast Recovery Services, leaving the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood with Kevin Jonas, after meeting with all three brothers.
Bayer is known for dealing with "crisis situations" as well as drug-addiction issues. One could say the Jonas Brothers are in crisis after abruptly and quietly cancelling 19 concerts a week ago.
More details about Joe’s alleged drug problem hits the newsstands Thursday with the latest issue of Star.
