While the Sprint Cup Series visits the twists and turns of Sonoma Raceway in California, the Nationwide Series will be navigating the course at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by Johnsonville goes green Saturday with a new face behind the wheel of Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20.
Kenny Habul, who has entered the road course races in the past two Nationwide Series seasons in a car he owned, will make his JGR debut in the No. 20 SunEnergy1 Toyota Camry, working with a sponsor who has been on his car in four of his six previous starts. Habul, of Queensland, Australia, had a top finish of 16th at Road America in 2012.
Elliott Sadler will be in the familiar No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota at Road America, a track he has had luck at in the past. Sadler has not finished worst than 15th in three starts at the 4.048-mile track, and has a best finish of fourth in 2011; he finished ninth last season.
Sam Hornish Jr. returns to the seat of the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota having already visited victory lane once this season. In two previous Nationwide Series starts at Road America, Hornish Jr. finished fifth both times – he also has three top five finishes in three starts for JGR this season.
Qualifying for the Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by Johnsonville gets underway Saturday at 10:40 a.m. CT, with the race going green at 1:45 p.m. CT. Keep up with the action at joegibbsracing.com.
