While fans of the Baltimore Ravens were celebrating the new six-year contract of their favorite quarterback Joe Flacco, he was celebrating in a different sort. Flacco could have bought a number of McDonald franchises with just his signing bonus of $29 million. On March 5, LA Times reported that Flacco was spotted by a McDonald’s employee and Raven fan, Sherry Norman, going through the drive-thru on his way home in Aberdeen, Md.
Norman told ESPN "I kept saying to the people I work with, ‘Doesn't that look like Joe Flacco?’” Most people are curious what Flacco’s happy meal of the day was; a 10-piece Chicken McNugget meal with fries and an unsweetened tea for $6.99. McDonald’s may not want to pay Flacco’s endorsement fee but if Shelly Norman doesn’t get a raise for thinking on her feet to ask for a picture of Flacco at the drive-thru than they’ve lost a great opportunity.
After winning the Super Bowl and MVP, Flacco and his family went to Disney World as part of their “What’s Next?” campaign, with an estimated $6,000 per word after winning the Super Bowl he said, “I’m going to Disney World” and participated in their day parade.
Clearly Joe was not looking for another product to endorse he probably just wanted a snack to hold him over for dinner after the stressful time signing his life away for the next six-years in Baltimore. But Joe seems like the average Joe, everyone can afford to go to the golden arches, now Raven fans have one more thing in common with their high profile Raven.
