Joe Biden recalls his personal brush with another school shooting

When Joe Biden was a senator in 2006 he was enjoying a round of golf when unbeknownst to him there was a shooting going on in a nearby school and by golly he could have been hurt, killed or even worse.

As he explains it to a meeting with Mayors on Thursday:

I happened to be literally — probably, it turned out, to be a quarter of a mile at an outing when I heard gunshots in the woods….We didn’t know … we thought they were hunters.

The shooting was at an Amish school house where ten people were shot and five students lost their lives.

The vice-president told the story to our cities mayors to demonstrate that not only students are in danger to gun violence but even mild mannered public figures such as himself enjoying an afternoon with friends, so something must be done.

To spoil the harrowing story a right wing newspaper (Washington Times) took a look at the map of where the shooting took place and found that the nearest golf course was Moccasin Run Golf Club. A club with an Indian name which doesn’t make sense because everyone knows you can’t run in Moccasins nor is it allowed on golf courses. So obviously the club owners are racists.

The pro at Moccasin Run, a fellow who goes by the name Rodney King, said he remembers the day of the shooting and doesn’t recall seeing Senator Biden nor was there anything missing later on. Mr. King elaborated using a time honored Native American metaphor:

I would be honored to have Joe Biden play here because he’s a public figure…But I put myself in his shoes — Moccasin Run Golf Club would not be the golf course I would go to if I’m going on a golf trip. We are a public facility

Which goes to show how much Mr. King knows about Joe the socialist Biden who loves public facilities to the extent that he wants hospitals to get in on it. So he could have been there after all.

But the right wing newspaper pressed on without the intended pun and found that the shoe obsessed golf course was not a quarter mile away but five. And since the shooting occurred indoors and not out, it only demonstrates that the Senators ears are as keen as his mouth. We are so lucky to have him.

The Times then added this unfair rehash of another Biden story where he was close to gun violence, this time in a war zone where this sort of thing goes on all the time:

While running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2007, Mr. Biden said in a debate that he had been “shot at” during a trip to Iraq. Pressed by reporters, he eventually described three incidents on two separate Iraq trips in which he felt that he was shot at or might have been shot at.

He ended up revising his description by saying: I was near where a shot landed.

This might have been the same debate where Hillary Clinton told the story of being shot at in Bosnia. Not to be outdone, Biden could have told his story prefacing it with “Oh yea, well one time I was shot at too...”

Everyone gets suspicious at these anecdotes but no one wants to ask why Democrats are always getting shot at, or near shots, or in the vicinity of where someone was talking about a shooting. No, we have to over analyze and do research to see if it’s all true just in case they’re lying or something. You would think they were like Mitt Romney who lied when he said Jeeps were going to made in China.
