On April 4, 2013, the Jodi Arias murder trial continued just days after disruption took place on the jury as one juror was tossed from the panel for misconduct. Bizarrely, the prosecutor questioned a defense witness about a popular fairy tale and whether Snow White was abused, according to CBS News.
Arias, 32, is charged with the brutal 2008 murder of her former lover, Arizona man Travis Alexander, 30. He was stabbed over two dozen times, was shot in the head, and his throat was slashed. She claims she killed him in self-defense, but during the trial Arias has testified she does not remember much about the deadly confrontation.

Psychotherapist Alyce LaViolette was questioned by prosecutor Juan Martinez about her expertise and how she came to the conclusion that Arias was abused by Alexander. CBS reports he referenced a seminar she had conducted that was called, “Was Snow White a Battered Woman?”

Martinez became louder, as he has throughout the trial, and asked LaViolette how she determined Snow White was an abused woman.
She responded by informing Martinez he was mischaracterizing her seminar. He continued, by noting the fairy tale character was sent to live alone in the forest under harsh conditions.

LaViolette said, “She lived with the seven dwarves and according to the Disney version, she was pretty happy.”
The two went back and forth regarding Snow White’s living conditions until Arias’ attorney Jennifer Willmott objected.
LaViolette then asked Martinez, “…are you angry at me?” which elicited laughter from those in the courtroom, according to CBS.
As Martinez continued his line of questioning regarding Snow White, LaViolette said, “I have no information about the relationship between Prince Charming and Snow White," after which the judge decided to end proceedings for the day.
If Arias is convicted of Alexander's murder, she could be sentenced to death. Her trial is slated to resume next week.
