On the "Nancy Grace" show, which aired on Jan. 4, the former prosecutor continued her discussion on Jodi Arias, the woman who is accused of murdering Travis Alexander.
Friends and roommates of the Mesa, Ariz. resident became concerned in June 2008 when they had not seen or heard from him in a while. Initially, they thought he was away on a business trip, but after five days of silence, they decided to check up on him. Upon entering his 5-bedroom luxury home, a horrible stench shocked them. They proceeded to go upstairs to his bedroom and since it was locked, they found the key. Upon entering, they found blood everywhere and his naked body crumpled up in the shower stall.
The "Nancy Grace" show talked about the case in length and a recording of the 911 call was played for viewers. A woman had called for help and said that Jodi had been stalking him. While a few people seem to think that Arias was a poor, abused victim, the fact that Travis Alexander's friends instantly thought of her when they found his bloody body says otherwise.
Those who believe Jodi is innocent need to be reminded that she has changed her story on three separate occasions. First, she had no idea what happened and was not even there. Then, when DNA evidence proved she was there thanks to her leaving a clear palm print in his blood, she claimed that a man and woman broke in and murdered him. She says she barely got away and was threatened not the call the cops. After that story was falling apart on her, she claimed that it was self-defense. The only problem with the third story is that he had multiple stab wounds in his back, meaning that he was running away from Arias, not towards her.
The self-defense excuse also does not fly because the very next day she went to Utah to have lunch with some business colleagues and friends of Alexander's. She had a bandage on her hand, was wearing long sleeves in 100 degree weather and acting bubbly and happy.
There is also the issue of how she appears when talking about what happened. There are several clips of her smiling and laughing, as if she were having a good time with friends. The laughter is not a nervous giggle, but that of a woman who does not have a care in the world. She tells the story of his life and death in a very calm, cool and collected manner. While some people do very well under pressure, she is simply too calm about it. There does not appear to be one iota of sadness, grief or remorse.
Jodi also appears to be obsessed with her appearance, which makes some believe she may have narcissistic traits or even have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Several times before jailhouse interviews, she is seen primping herself with a powder brush, making sure she looks beautiful for the camera. When she was being arrested, she asked the police to give her some time to put on her make up and do her hair.
She is also arrogant and has said to several reporters,
"No jury will convict me."
With all of the evidence and the unraveling of her web of lies, it is highly doubtful she will avoid a guilty verdict. It seems that Jodi Arias believes her beauty and good acting skills will fool the jury, but people are smarter than she thinks.
