On Jan. 3, 2013, the defense for Jodi Arias, 32, the Ariz. woman accused of murdering her boyfriend Travis Alexander, entered into evidence emails between the lovers in which he called her a “slut” and a “whore.”
It was also revealed the former lovers shared social media passwords due to their distrust of one another.
Arias is accused of slitting Alexander’s throat, stabbing him 27 times, and shooting him in the head in his Mesa home in 2008. The two had only dated for a few months after meeting in 2006 at a convention in Las Vegas. They broke up in 2007, but continued to have sex until the day Alexander, 30, was killed.

Police found a camera in the washing machine they allege Arias was laundering to get rid of evidence. Authorities note on the memory card were images of Arias and Alexander in their final sexual encounter, as well as photos of Alexander showering just prior to being murdered. Some of the pictures appear to have been snapped accidentally when the camera was dropped, such as one showing the victim’s bloody body and another depicting Arias dragging him across the floor.

She claims she was a victim of domestic violence and was forced to kill Alexander because he was abusive and controlling.

Since her arrest in 2008, police say Arias has repeatedly changed her story about what happened on the night of Alexander’s death, according to CBS News. At one point she denied being at his home, but later, in a story given to media, she said she witnessed two individuals enter his house and kill him.

Media reports indicate that Arias is being compared to Casey Anthony, the Fla. mother acquitted in 2011 for murdering her toddler daughter, Caylee Anthony.
