Job satisfaction at all time low

According to a survey by the Conference Board, job satisfaction is at it's lowest point since the survey began in 1987. The dissatisfaction runs equally across all age groups, but the lowest level of satisfaction occurs in the under 25 age group.

On the other side of the coin, our world is far more competitive both globally and locally. In order to survive, companies have to trim where possible and get the most out of every employee. The United States has few advantages in the area of labor cost compared to much of the developing industrial world, so employers must be sure to get a high level of productivity out of all employees.

Perhaps this high level of dissatisfaction will play out in more people searching for their passion and purpose in life. In my view, people who pursue their passion and purpose in life are happier and more satisfied with their work and life.
