San Antonio Career Fair is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Omni San Antonio Hotel. It is located at 9821 Colonnade Blvd. This is a free event with free parking. You can register online and get the full list of companies that are participating. Some of the current employers available will be Allstate Insurance, West Corporation, United Health Group and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Home Depot will be hiring 80,000 new workers nationwide for the spring season so they expect a real surge in their home improvement business and home remodeling.
This Atlanta based firm has a history of adjusting their work force around the market cycles. Home Depot (HD) also has a strong community presence and affiliation with the military.
On Feb. 14th Home Depot is participating in the "Recruit Military" job fair here in San Antonio from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Alamodome. Representatives from the company will be there to discuss job requirements and available positions so bring copies of your resume and prepare for questions.
Back in 2009, during the recession, Home Depot cut 7,000 jobs. Over the past two years, they have increased spring hiring each year, they added 60,000 seasonal workers in early 2011 and 70,000 workers in 2012. So the outlook for this year is positive.
According to a recent CNN news release, "The chain employs upwards of 300,000 workers in 2,256 stores across North America."
