Job fairs offer hope to unemployed Columbus, OH residents

Job News USA hosted their first of many job fairs in Columbus, OH last month at The Aladdin Shrine Center at Easton.

A Columbus Dispatch article described the urgency and hopefulness job seekers felt as they completed applications, submitted resumes and in some instances interviewed with hiring managers and human resource professionals on the spot.

There will be several more job fairs hosted by Job News USA including one on March 10, 2010 starting at 10 am until 3 pm at The Fawcett Conference Center on Olentagy River Road. And if history proves correct, these events will bring in more than one thousand Central Ohioans looking for gainful employment from employers like Safelite, Affinion Group of Westerville and UPS all recruiting to fill open positions.

Be prepared. Employers are looking for workers who are ambitious, reliable and in some cases ready to start immediately. Dress to impress and be ready for those on the spot interviews. According to Job News USA, “Your first impression is critical when job seeking. Men should wear their best suit with a tie, and matching dress shoes. Women should wear their best jacket with matching skirt or pants and shoes. Admittance may be denied to anyone wearing shorts, jeans, flip flops or other inappropriate attire”.

Bring plenty of copies of your resume printed on quality paper. Your resume should be free from any errors both spelling and grammatical - so check it carefully. If you do not bring your resume Job News USA suggests bringing a portfolio or a briefcase with notebook pad and pens. Free parking will also be available.

There are jobs available in Central Ohio and employers are looking to fill them with qualified candidates.
