Job fairs coming in May to San Antonio

Spring has sprung in San Antonio. We have Fiesta Week in April, bluebonnets are blooming and many outdoor events to enjoy. For job seekers, there are a couple of important dates to keep you focused on your career calendar.

On Thursday, May 8, 2014 The San Antonio Veteran Career Fair will be held at the Norris Conference Center. It is located at 4522 Fredericksburg Road. This free event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and it is presented by RecruitMilitary and sponsored by USAA. Currently USAA has 226 jobs on their job board.

There will be over 60 companies attending that include; USAA, Microsoft, Northrop Grumman, Amazon, General Dynamics and many others. It is a hiring event for U.S. Military veterans and includes those who are transitioning into civilian roles, members of the National Guard and reserves and spouses.

In addition to the job fair, USAA's Wealth Management team will be presenting an informational seminar at 10:00 am prior to the event on "Practical Advice for All Stages of Retirement Planning".

Other exhibitors will include colleges and universities.

For those near the Austin area, there are will be a Career Expo 2014 "The Journey to Success Starts Here" on May 20, 2014 from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Palmer Event Center. It is located at 900 Barton Springs Road. This is a free event with over 100 employers attending. The city of Austin is hosting the 4th annual career fair with openings in the industries of IT, healthcare, sales, retail and construction.
