Leaving the military can be difficult. There are adjustments that must be made and fitting into civilian life has its challenges. Finding a job can be one of those challenges. To help in this process, there will be a Veteran Resources and Career Fair from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Nova Southeastern University. Employers that will attend include General Dynamics, U.S. Border Patrol and GTE Financial and the event is being sponsored by Vet Ready, which helps veterans move from the military to the work force, according to an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds, in the March 16 Sun Sentinel.
As the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq draw to a close, more and more military veterans are seeking jobs in the civilian work force. Veterans offer corporations and government organizations a high level of maturity, technical skills and a strong work ethic. And veterans have served their nation, often under difficult circumstances.
