Deadline reports that Joan Rivers cut the interview short when she walked off stage during a pre-taped interview with CNN host, Fredericka Whitfield on July 5, 2014. What started as an interview to promote Joan’s new book, “Diary of a Mad Diva” quickly turned into an offended Joan ripping out her earpiece and walking away.

During the interview, Fredericka thought Joan was joking. After all, Joan is a comedian. But, this time, Joan allegedly was not in a joking mood. She was serious.

What caused Joan to storm out? It started when Fredericka mentioned that her fashion show, “The Fashion Police” was mean. Fredericka innocently remarked, “. . . even with your fashion critiquing, while it’s very mean in some ways . . .” Joan interrupts her to state several times, “It’s not mean.” Joan declares that she tells the truth when she calls a certain dress ugly. Joan insisted that the people making $28 million a picture don't care whether she likes their dress or not.

Fredericka then asked Joan whether some topics should be “off limits” to jokes. She mentioned a few instances that Joan had written in her book, like the time when Casey Anthony’s baby passed away or Princess Dianna walked on so many landmines and the men she dated. She asked Joan if those should not have been joked about.

Joan’s response was, “Life is very tough. And if you can make a joke to make something easier and funny, do it.”

Next, Fredericka mentioned the fact that the cover picture of Joan's new book was of Joan wearing an animal fur. Joan became defensive. She removed her earpiece, accusing the CNN host, “You know what, I'm going. I'm really going because all you've done is negative," she continued. "I've made people laugh for 50 years. I was put on Earth to make people laugh and my book is funny."

As she stood up, she told Fredericka that she should not be interviewing a person who does comedy.

Fredericka thought when Joan stormed off camera, that is was an act, but she discovered Joan was serious. Still wearing her microphone, Joan she said some offensive four-letter words.

However, this interview is only part of the outlandish or offensive things that Joan Rivers has said. Earlier this week, after officiating a gay wedding, a reporter asked her if the US would ever have a gay president. Joan shocked the reporter when she responded, "We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down." She took a few steps, stopped and turned to the reporter adding, "You know Michelle is a tranny." When asked to explain what she said, Joan clarified, "A transgender. We all know."

Joan Rivers is on E! "Fashion Police" and a new reality TV series, "Joan and Melissa."
