Joan Rivers says Obama is gay and First Lady is a tranny

Joan Rivers, the outrageously non-stop 81-year-old comedian, continues to let just about anything roll off of her tongue in the name of her brand of humor. Her latest controversial statement came this week when she was asked on the street – during the nation’s pride week – if Americans will ever see a gay president. Typical of a shocking Rivers response, she said, “We already have it with Obama, so let’s just calm down.” The report from Yahoo! News on Thursday continued.

That wasn’t enough. As Rivers started to walk away from the reporter, she blurted out, “You know Michelle is a tranny.” When the reporter followed up by asking her to confirm that statement, she said, “A transgender. We all know.” While such assertions have hit underground publications in the past, it is the first time a well-known person’s name can be tacked on to the claim.

A Daily Beast report said that Rivers officiated an impromptu gay wedding between two of her adoring fans in New York City on Monday of this past week. At a book signing of her latest book, she did the officiating. In other Rivers’ news, she was chastised by the Anti-Defamation League two years ago when she compared Costco to Nazi Germany for not selling her book.

In the past week, many comments came from Rivers via an interview she had with the Daily Beast as she promoted her latest book, “Diary of a Mad Diva.” While still being outrageous in that interview, she was serious about her personal life. She spoke about contemplating suicide after her husband committed suicide decades ago. She spoke about how Edgar, her husband and manager, felt guilty about basically destroying her career at that time. She also spent time talking about her daughter and grandson, who she adores completely.

Regarding the lawsuit she’s been faced with by Kristen Stewart, the comedian tends not to worry because there is a disclaimer at the beginning of her book which says “Miss Rivers wrote this diary as a comedic tome, not unlike ‘Saving Private Ryan’ or ‘The Bell Jar’… Anyone who takes anything seriously in this book is an idiot.” Yet, Stewart takes extreme offense to what Rivers wrote about her. Of Stewart, Rivers wrote, “Many stars only do one thing well. The best one-trick-pony is Kristen Stewart, who got a whole career by being able to juggle a director’s balls.”

River’s “Diary of a Mad Diva,” is obviously not a diary at all. It is written for comedy’s sake from cover to cover while taking shots at celebrities who she feels are still relevant in 2014. The book opens with a quote by Kanye West who has proudly asserted that he is a non-reader of books. To that, Rivers dedicated her book to West on the next page by writing that the book is dedicated Kanye West because he’ll never f---in’ read it. Rivers’ career continues to drive on as she stars in print, on television, and in personal appearances. She said in the interview that she needs her career to continue to maintain her lifestyle which she says is not great - but good.
