Hollywood and fans are breathing a little easier today with the news that iconic, snarky but still beloved Fashion Police” Joan Rivers, who has been in an induced coma for the last six days (since August 28), was moved from ICU into a private room at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital. However from all the reports it’s not sure if she is totally out of woods yet.
A Fox News report posted earlier today, September 3, stated that “ Melissa Rivers issued a statement to fans today about her mother's condition. In case you missed it, six days ago the sharp-tongued comedian was rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during a minor procedure. Melissa said, “My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable,” the statement read. “Thank you for your continued support.”
So far there has been no mention of whether Rivers is still on life support or her immediate condition. Melissa posted several Tweets and interviews saying that her mother be overwhelmed by the continuing outpouring of kindness. However since Rivers is known for her acerbic wit, not everybody is in the same boat and there has been some unfavorable, in bad taste, comments posted on social media.
According to E! filming of River’s “Fashion Police” series has been suspended. “We will not be producing a ‘Fashion Police’ this week or next as we await Joan and Melissa's return in front and behind the camera," a rep said. "E! will be airing two ‘E! From Fashion Week’ specials that will deliver the latest news and information from the highly-anticipated event.”
