According to ET Online on Thursday, Joan Rivers was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where she was reported in critical condition. However, reports now say she is in stable condition where she is being attended to. Her daughter Melissa and her 13-year-old grandson Cooper are flying out to be by her side.

Yahoo News reports the comedienne was having an endoscopic procedure which is minor throat surgery at Yorkville Endoscopy, a clinic in New York's Upper East Side where she was undergoing surgery on her vocal cords while under sedation.

The E! television channel on which Rivers hosts the show "Fashion Police" reported that she was in a stable condition after suffering "complications from throat surgery" this morning. Spokesman Sid Dinsay says, "Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support." He promised to provide an update on her condition as it becomes available.

On Wednesday night, the well-known comedienne joked about her age and said she could go at any moment. Earlier this week, Rivers filmed a special 90-minute episode of "Fashion Police" and has a string of appearances scheduled in the coming weeks. She also has a UK tour scheduled in October.

It is no secret that Rivers has gone through many plastic surgeries so people might not look at her as being 81 years old. Her plastic surgeries have given her exaggerated cheek bones and her preternaturally wrinkle-free face.

After the news broke this morning, several of Rivers' friends sent out positive thoughts on Twitter and the tweets are still coming in. Some of those friends include Andy Cohen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Zachary Quinto, Bernadette Peters, Kelly Ripa, Nancy Sinatra, and Marlee Martin.
