JK8 Snarky Commentary: "Jon Gosselin returns money to bank account, Kate facing contempt"

The "JK8 Snarky Commentary" articles aren't designed to be news on the always-unfolding carnival of shenanigans revolving around Jon and Kate Gosselin, but rather an opportunity for the Comedy Examiner to shoot a little snarky commentary in their direction.  After all, what good is it having a standup comic around if you're not gonna have him be sarcastic about pop culture from time to time? Today's news concerns the news that Jon Gosselin followed his court order and returned a bunch of missing money to the family's joint bank account.  Good work, Jon.  Read on for more, snark enthusiasts and Examiner readers...

According to Radar Online-- the best place to get information on the Gosselins if you're looking to be a snarky, sarcastic a-hole-- Jon Gosselin followed court orders and returned about $180,000 to the family's joint bank account.  Let's see what Radar has to say about this:

Unless something happens today she will be going through contempt proceedings Monday," Mark Heller told People. He did not confirm whether Jon had returned the full amount of $180,000. Kate had been ordered to account for $55,000 she supposedly withdrew for household expenses. Kate's divorce attorney Mark Momjian did not immediately comment.

Ruh-Roh!  Kate going to going to jail for contempt of court?  The idea warms the cockles of the Comedy Examiner's heart-- and our cockles are not easily warmed-- but the idea's pretty unlikely.  If Jon's $2, ambulance-chasing lawyer to the stars could confidently guide him into returning the money that he needed to at the correct time, we're guessing Kate's lawyer should be able to do the same.  Kate's lawyer-- the above-mentioned Momjian-- seems the more reliable of the two, having never been, y'know, disbarrred for being a bad lawyer or anything.  Let's see what he has to say about this:

Attorneys for Jon and Kate had also filed contempt motions against each other for allegedly violating a divorce arbitrator's guidelines for how the money from a joint account should be spent.

Ah, communicating through contempt motions: that's the sweetest stage of divorce, don't you think?  That step usually gets left out while chanting the whole "Sitting in a Tree" rhyme, but it's a vital step to the "New American Romance" that we've seen develop over the past decade or so.  Also left out from that fun little rhyme is the step about "signing the prenup", "banging the nanny", and "draping yourself in Ed Hardy".

These divorce proceedings are gonna stretch on into the next decade, if we had to guess.  Neither side wants to back down, and now that Jon's got a little bit of self-respect back in the wake of getting out from under his shrieking wife, it's likely that he's gonna fight for every last cent that he can get outta this thing.  Then there's the whole "Jon suing TLC" thing, "TLC suing Jon" thing, and the "Jon stopping filming" thing to be worked out.  Yeah, this is gonna take a long time to wrap-up.

And, hey, because we never get enough of this video, here's Jon Gosselin getting torn a new one on "The Insider".  Does this ever get old?  "Team Jon" members will say "Yes"; the Comedy Examiner says, "No":

Stay tuned to the Comedy Examiner's Office for more snarky commentary on this situation as it develops.  Whatta you think, folks?  Will Kate get the money returned on-time, or is she gonna end up lathering some huge chick named "Linda" up in the shower for cigarette money?  Sound off in the comments section below, we wanna know what you have to say about all this!
