The Jimmy Kimmel twerk video called, "Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches Fire!" has now reached over 11 million views, and has many proclaiming Kimmel a marketing genius. The "twerk" which gained more popularity because of Miley Cyrus in recent times, was incorporated into a stunt video, where Kimmel was able to fool millions and achieve massive viral video success on YouTube.
A Sept. 10 report from LA Times notes that Kimmel revealed it was all a hoax during his late night show on Monday night. Kimmel even carried on with the prank, pretending the young woman in the video was live on Skype to talk to him during his show. Moments later, he went behind a curtain, to sit right next to her and appear on camera, revealing the truth of the matter.
From there, a full video was unveiled showing the prank. The original YouTube video, showed the young woman doing a handstand against a door and "twerking," before her friend opened the door and sent her crashing down through a table with several lit candles. The woman who had been twerking was then literally "on fire," and the video soon stopped, lasting not even a minute.
The new video, continues right where the other one stopped. It shows Jimmy Kimmel enter the room wearing a pink shirt and using a fire extinguisher to put out the flames on the girl on fire. The girl, who was named Caitlin Heller in the YouTube clip, was later revealed to be a stunt woman named Daphne Avalon.
Kimmel's video would go on to become an instant viral video success, achieving 9 million views on the YouTube site in less than a week. Additionally, Kimmel has to be pleased that he was able to use "twerking" and a fiery video hoax to fool millions of people, including those associated with "The View," "Today" and CNN.
