Jimmy Kimmel has shown time and time again on his ABC late-night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that he loves finding the humor in things that children say and do. There have been times that these children have also brought him a great deal of controversy (remember the protests following one child's comments about China?), but there have also been times where they have brought uproarious laughter (see the "Baby Bachelor" spoof).
This time around, Kimmel's series of "Lie Detective" videos basically are an attempt to combine two different things that are very popular this time of year: Funny kids, and also the holiday season. He interrogates a kid in the video attached to this article to figure out whether or not they have been naughty or nice this year, and the results of it are worth a few laughs. You learn that this child allegedly gets penalized for picking noses, has been forced to apologize for being mean to his brother, and also is hoping for some great presents from Santa this year.
The two most surprising parts of this video are that the "lie detector helmet" is really just a colander that you use to make pasta, and also that Kimmel's sidekick Guillermo appears to be getting ready for a wedding as the bride.
This is the final full week for many late-night talk shows prior to the holiday break, and so of course the goal for them becomes trying to ensure that they put videos and sketches out there that people will watch for some time. While this clip in particular will not have a whole lot of life after December 25, it should play well online before the holiday and over the weekend, even while people are traveling to see loved ones.
