What we do for Hollywood. Now local residents have to find alternative routes to get into Hollywood thanks to an unprecedented closure of it main thoroughfare for two days beginning Sunday, September 22, 2013. Why you might ask is this happening. This is Hollywood folks where celebrities rule. And just because Jimmy Kimmel is going there to kick off the broadcast season of his show Jimmy Kimmel Live with an epic two-night free concert event the city is closing Hollywood Boulevard. If that's not enough to inconvenience us, Sir Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake’s appearances on Monday and Tuesday are also factors in the equation.
All lanes of Hollywood Blvd between Orange Drive and Highland Ave will be shut, closed, not open to traffic while Timberlake shares songs from his new album and McCartney goes in studio for an interview. My source for this, by the way, is our local Nichols Canyon Association that keeps an eagle eye out for possible traffic jams and other annoyances.
If you want to attend the free concerts and can figure out what to do with you car, the shows start at 4:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and Hollywood Boulevard reopens at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25. For information and tickets go to http://1iota.com/Show/320/JKL-Hollywood-BLVD-Concerts.
"Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET CT on ABC, check out video for more on JKL.
