'Jimmy Kimmel Live' makes time for Matt Damon, Oscar winner to guest on show

Actor Matt Damon will finally be a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." The Oscar winner is set to sit down for an interview with Kimmel on Thursday, January 24 at 11:35 p.m. on ABC

Since the show's debuts ten years ago, Damon's name have been used as a gag on the show. Every night at the end of every show, Kimmel signs off with an apology to Matt Damon for "running out of time." The running gag began in the first season of "JKL," and has been repeated at the close of every show since then.

Thursday will mark Damon's first in studio appearance on the show, however the actor has appeared in sketches filmed for the show before.

Damon make a music video with Kimmel's then-girlfriend, Sarah Silverman, called "I'm F*cking Matt Damon." The video became widely popular and created water-cooler talk across the nation. Kimmel retaliated with a star-studded video of his own co-starring Damon's best friend, titled "I'm F*cking Ben Affleck." Damon also appeared in comedy pieces like "Movie: The Movie," alongside Kimmel's sidekick/security guard Guillermo in a promotional trailer for "The Bourne Ultimatum," and in "The Handsome Men's Club,"but has never been interviewed.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live," airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET, on ABC and broadcasts from Disney's El Capitan Theater, located on Hollywood Boulevard.
