Jimmy Kimmel marked his first show in his new 11:35 p.m. EST time slot last night on ABC by getting an on air haircut from Jennifer Aniston. This came after she had destroyed his desk with a sledgehammer in a bit where she pretended to think she was on the last show in his old time slot. Jimmy’s monologue took shots at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, with references to Rihanna and Honey Boo Boo as well. Kimmel reprised his “Lie Witness News” bit where people on the street were asked how they liked his show in the new time slot, funny of course because it was done before his show moved up to its earlier airing time.
Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue didn’t disappoint last night, as he started off his new earlier show with a nod to the Kimye baby, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “I understand what’s at stake here, and I don’t take this responsibility lightly, especially with the Kanye West-Kim Kardashian baby on the way”, Kimmel said.
“This is the time I shine bright like a diamond”, he added, a reference to lyrics from Rihanna’s hit song “Diamonds”. He then acknowledged fans of “Nightline”, which formerly held the time slot, saying although his show isn’t that show, they will tackle important news stories.
“Did you know Honey Boo Boo’s mother is afraid of mayonnaise”?, he then asked as he launched a clip from the show where they debate whether vegetarians can eat it.
Kimmel’s taped on the street interview bit where people were asked about his new show, found the usual “liars” who claimed to have already seen the show. One woman recalled fictitious episodes which featured the Pope and the Dalai Lama.
Jennifer Aniston’s desk-destroying bit’s premise was, “out with the old, in with the new”, with the actress fist-pumping Jimmy Kimmel about moving to his new time. Of course he had to tell her this wasn’t the last old show, but the first new one, and she'd killed his new desk.
Jen recounted how she used to give haircuts to friends for pocket money when she was young, so she decided to give Jimmy a quick on-air trim. The subject came up because the two were discussing their recent vacation together to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Entertainment Weekly recapped the top five funniest moments from Jimmy Kimmel’s first 10 years with video clips. They included the continuing gag of bumping Matt Damon for running out of time, which spawned the NSFD clips with Sarah Silverman and then Ben Affleck.
There’s also the hilarious bit where parents sent in video of telling their kids they ate all of their Halloween candy. Finally the hysterical “Handsome Men’s Club” sketch which saw many Hollywood hunk heavyweights vote nay on admitting Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson into the club.
