Jimmy Kimmel continued a segment of having celebrities read mean comments tweeted about them in his new time slot. Fans are relieved that just because Kimmel is on earlier now, it doesn’t mean he’s going to be any nice. According to a Jan. 9 Gawker report, Jimmy had celebrities read nasty tweets about themselves on the very first night in his new time slot.
Kimmy said celebrities with Twitter accounts, including himself, sometimes receive hundreds of insulting tweets a day. Selena Gomez frowned in response to someone asking for a volume lower than mute to block her sounds from the radio. Larry King was called a goblin, while Dr. Phil was called a hillbilly. Kirstie Alley and Christina Applegate were called “whore”and “slut.”
Some of the celebrities had fun with it. Simon Cowell thanked the tweeter for insulting him, saying it was one of the nicest things anyone ever said about him. Jessica Biel imitated a horse after reading a tweet about her “horse teeth.”
David Arquette simply agreed with a comment that he got old. Bryan Cranston also acknowledged that he has gained weight.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D were confused by the comment they read, which said they are like Lennon and McCartney “only fatter and gayer.” Kyle and Jack laugh and pondered, “I thought this was supposed to be mean tweets?”
Anderson Cooper didn’t taking a tweet comparing him to a dinosaur very well and replied with a disgruntled “f# ck you.” Lighten up, Cooper!
