Jimmy Kimmel is at it again and doing one of the things he loves to do most and that's blasting Jay Leno. Radar Online reported on Saturday, Jan. 5 that Jimmy Kimmel told Rolling Stone he is ready to go head-to-head in a ratings battled with “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno.
“The Jimmy Kimmel Live” show is scheduled to appear in the 11:35 p.m. time slot on Monday to go up against both David Letterman and Jay Leno's late night talk shows in a ratings war.
Jimmy Kimmel feels that Jay Leno is making a mockery of comedy.
"Leno hasn't been a good stand-up in 20 years, Jimmy Kimmel claims"
With the ensuing battle between the three comedians Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno and David Letterman it remains to be seen who will become the “king” of the late night talk shows in 2013.
Jimmy Kimmel apparently doesn't have any hard feelings for David Letterman. However, he feels as if Jay Leno sold out during when he took over Conan O'Brien's NBC late night television time slot. However, Conan O'Brien wasn't pleased with the decision either and left NBC for the cable television network TBS.
"As a comedian, you can’t not have disdain for what he’s done. He totally sold out. He was a master chef who opened a Burger King," Jimmy Kimmel said of Leno in a raucous interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
When Jimmy Kimmel was asked by Rolling Stone how he felt about competing against David Letterman he took a different approach.
Kimmel takes the high road when it comes to David Letterman though. "If I beat David Letterman in the ratings, does that mean I’m better than Letterman? No f***ing way,' he said.
