Jimmy Fallon will be new host of 'The Tonight Show', Leno will retire

It is official. A new report has been published on April 3 announcing that Jimmy Fallon will indeed take over "The Tonight Show" in 2014 when Jay Leno retires. Leno has been the host of the show for a number of years, and Fallon's "Late Night Show" is a major success.

As People reports, Jay Leno said in a statement to Fallon: "Congratulations, Jimmy. I hope you're as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you're the old guy. If you need me, I'll be at the garage." Many Leno fans are saddened by the news that he is retiring, but will also look forward to watching Jimmy Fallon on the show. According to the report, "The Tonight Show" will move from Los Angeles to New York City.

Fallon and Leno recently sang a duet together (view video), which addressed the rumor which has now been confirmed as true. Both stars have numerous fans, and Leno's are excited to see what he will do next.
