Saturday Night Live” has been the weekend television program of choice for generations. This weekend the show was hosted by former cast member, Jimmy Fallon. If you know anything about Fallon, you know that his comedic bromance with Justin Timberlake is a hot commodity these days. As it happened, Timberlake was the musical guest for the show. According to a Dec. 22 report from USA Today, the pairing of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake garnered the highest ratings for “Saturday Night Live” since January 2012. That is a testament to the huge following the men have, especially with numbers like that in just one night.

The episode of “Saturday Night Live” was the winter finale and included several guest appearances. Paul McCartney, Madonna, and Andy Gibb stopped by the show to appear with Jimmy Fallon in various skits. After everything was over Fallon sent out a thankful tweet to the special guests after the show aired. Fans gushed over the performances Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake gave. The two of them are pretty close to one another and they can easily feed off one another for comedic inspiration.

“Saturday Night Live” will be back with new episodes on Jan. 18. Jimmy Fallon will take over the “Tonight Show” beginning in February. 2014 is going to be a big year for late night television.
