The Cleveland Browns fired Rob Chudzinski after just one season on the job, and it shocked a lot of people. Now, there have been reports of different coaches that could come in to interview for the coaching vacancy, but according to Cleveland.com on Jan. 3, 2014, it won't be former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel.
A few days ago, Fox Sports 1350 said that Tressel was in the interest of the Browns for their head coaching vacancy. It appears now as if those were just rumors.
Chudzinski was fired back on Dec. 29, 2013, after just one season. Yes, it was a disappointing season that ended with the Browns having a 4-12 record and finishing last in their division, but there was a lot of promise and talent there.
Unfortunately, Chud won't get to coach that talent.
The 61-year-old Tressel is currently the Executive Vice President at the University of Akron.
Tressel resigned as head coach of Ohio State back in May of 2011, after a series of huge allegations. Some of those included his alleged knowledge of players on his team, selling university items and memorabilia.
