Legendary Fresno State football coach Jim Sweeney, who passed away Feb. 8, will be honored Saturday at Bulldog Stadium.
Sweeney, who was 83 years old, reportedly died at San Joaquin Gardens, a senior living community Sweeney and his wife June recently moved to from their home in Clovis.
The memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. with parking and tailgating available in the White lot.
Gates at the west and south sides of the stadium will both be open for public entry.
Speakers will include: Tim DeRuyter, Peg Sweeney, Jan Stenerud, Dennis Erickson, Sam Jankovich, Trent Dilfer and Kevin Sweeney.
Jim Sweeney coached at Fresno State for 19 seasons and lead the Bulldogs to eight conference championships. His overall record was 200 wins over 32 years of coaching.
