New Jim Parsons engagement rumors are now out. Is the actor ready to marry his partner of nearly 12 years? The National Enquirer published a report that Jim Parsons is engaged to Todd Spiewak, but the actor quickly slammed the report on Instagram. The Spread It reported on this latest news about the "Big Bang Theory" actor on Aug. 17.

This is not the first time the National Enquirer reported on something related to Parsons' personal life. In 2013, the actor had to speak out against a report that he asked Neil Patrick Harris for advice on surrogacy. Both actors star on CBS comedies, but Parsons revealed that he and Harris are not very close. He further added that he is not interested in having children anyway. In order to deny this latest report about his being engaged, Parsons shared a photo of his partner taken in 2003. He captioned the photo with the following:

"Me and Todd in 2003. Still very happy today… And NOT engaged! #justFYI #NationalEnquirerMakesS**tUp #duh

Why would the supermarket tabloid decided to post this new report now? It is likely because of the controversy caused by the cast in recent weeks. Production on season eight of the CBS comedy halted because the stars of the series, including Parsons, had not signed new contracts for the series. Contact talks had stalled because the cast wanted more money. Five members of the cast asked for a raise in pay, but it was only Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki that received a raise in their salaries.

How much more money will the trio make per episode? It is reported that the three main stars of the show had a raise from $325,000 to $1 million per episode. This salary is in line with the cast of another hit comedy, "Friends" from NBC. Soon after the cast signed their new contracts, production began on season eight of the comedy. The cast took to their social media accounts on Aug. 6 to reveal their excitement over the start of production. These new contracts will take the cast through the end of season 10, according to Deadline.

Season eight will bring big changes to the characters of "The Big Bang Theory." At the end of season seven, Leonard proposed to Penny, and this caused big problems for Sheldon. He actually left the apartment, and the couple found him ready to board a train to Pasadena. Latin Post did share some new spoilers about what will happen next for the character, and he will board that train. An insider said the following about Sheldon's departure:

"For those curious about Sheldon's whereabouts all summer, I can confirm that he did, in fact, get on that train (vs. just squatting in the station, as some have speculated). The bigger question you should be asking yourself is whether he ever stepped foot outside the train during his epic journey."

Sheldon's departure will not cause problems in his relationship with Amy. The couple will remain together to kick off season eight. Steve Molaro, an executive producer on the series, also revealed more about what is next on the series. He said the following:

"There will be a comic book store in the future, we're figuring out how exactly that will work out but the show will not go on without a comic book store, I promise you."

As for Penny and Leonard, fans should not expect the couple to rush down the aisle. They are engaged, and they will stay engaged for a bit. Penny will want to make sure that everyone knows that a pregnancy is not the reason for the engagement. "The Big Bang Theory" will return to CBS on Sept. 22. Fans will receive a double dose of episodes on that night.
