Jim Nabors has finally heard wedding bells ring in his honor – at 82 years of age. According to a Jan. 30 Fox News report, Nabors married his partner, Stan Cadwallader, in Seattle earlier this month.
Jim and Stan, 64, have been in a relationship for 38 years. Nabors is most famous for playing Gomer Pyle on “The Andy Griffith Show.” Jim said he has been open about his sexuality to his co-workers and loved ones, but has never acknowledge it publically before making his wedding announcement.
Nabors clarified that he isn’t ashamed of being a homosexual, but wanted to keep his personal life and romantic relationship private. While, Jim doesn’t consider himself a gay activist he does feel strongly that everyone should have the right to spend their life with whoever they love – regardless of gender.
Nabors explained that he and Stan feel very happy and blessed to have had each other all of these years and wanted to finally make their relationship legal.
Congratulations, Jim Nabors! Are you surprised to learn that the man behind Gomer Pyle is gay? What are your thoughts on gay marriage?
