They have only nice things to say about one another but Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy announce the end of their five year realtionship on Twitter

"I'm so grateful for the years Jim and I shared together," McCarthy, 37, posted on her Twitter page (@JennyFromMTV).  "I will stay committed to Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart."

Jane is Carrey's 22-year-old daughter, who just made the comedian a grandfather in late February, giving birth to son Jackson Riley Santana.

Carrey, 48, also only had kind words. "I'm grateful 4 the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best! S'okay!" Carrey Tweeted (@JimCarrey )

The tweets came around the same time and Carrey's rep Marleah Leslie confirmed the split to  PEOPLE Magazine saying "Jim and Jenny have recently decided to end their five-year relationship,"

The split appears to be quite amicable and the pair both confirm that they'll remain in one anothers lives.
