Each week during the high school sports season the Eastern Maine High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc @ easternmainesportsblog@yahoo.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination.
2012/2013 Winter season- Week 10- February 4th- February 9th
Female
Jillian Woodward- Orono- Basketball- Had 17 points, 22 rebounds and two blocks (including 200th of her career) in 50-47 victory over Penquis. Recorded 11 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks in 43-39 loss to Dexter. Woodward has 11 double doubles this season. Woodward also captured athlete of the week for her effort during week five.
Runner up
Brianna Skolfield- Central- Basketball- Scored 27 points in 50-43 victory over Bucksport. Scored 15 points and had nine rebounds in 43-30 victory over George Stevens.

Mackenzie Worcester- Washburn- Basketball- Scored 30 points in 77-40 victory over Central Aroostook.
Shaunna Beaudoin- East Grand- Basketball- Scored 29 points in 71-64 victory over Southern Aroostook.
Mackenzie Coiley- Foxcroft- Basketball- Scored 27 points in 45-44 victory over PCHS.
Whitney Arno- Foxcroft- Basketball- Made a basket and a foul shot with two seconds remaining to give Ponies 45-44 victory over PCHS.
