Jillian Barberie is getting a divorce, after six years of marriage. She and husband Grant Reynolds have put out a statement announcing their immediate plans to divorce. The former co-host of “Good Day L.A.” calls her soon-to-be ex a “special man,” reports CBS News on Friday, March 15.
The statement goes on: “This was a mutual decision that was not taken lightly and we are committed to our children and will work together to ensure their happy and healthy upbringing."
There have been rumors of problems circulating since early in February, but Jillian Barberie Reynolds did not confirm the divorce plans until Friday. They have two small children. The statement indicated that the parents plan shared care of the children, Ruby and Rocco, who are 5 and 3. Divorce is usually hardest on the children, after all.
Grant Reynolds became an actor after serving in the Marines. Jillian has spread her talents over a wide variety of entertainment from weather reporting and sports reporting to realty shows and even an “American Idol” spinoff called “American Idol Extra.” Before her marriage to Grant Reynolds, Barbarie was married for six years to Bret Barbarie, a professional baseball player.
But the co-host position at “Good Day L.A.” has been her longest gig. Jillian lasted 16 years, in that slot. Perhaps another such role is in her future.
