Jill Tran of Kansas City is a ' hands on' kind of designer. She is also a product designer, a set designer, and a mom whose work displays her own passion for interiors with style and comfort. Her attention to detail and the unexpected are what makes her work stand out. She brings in elements that are meaningful to the user.
In this cozy living room, Jill had three types of trees cut to fit the odd spaces on either side of the fireplace. She added a group of hand gilded leaves, which relate to the accessories and mirror framed side table. The 'tree wall relief' creates moving shadows and texture for a unique 'living with nature' feeling in the space. The choice of art work continues the nature theme... with the colorful Koi fish painting by B Harvey. For the upholstery, she chose softer hued materials with a relaxed elegance that are hallmarks her work.
Jill ' transforms lives and spaces' all over the country, and has won several awards for design excellence from KC Magazine and Midwest Commercial Journal for her interior design work. She is a busy lady who keeps in touch with current trends by attending High Point Market twice a year. She also reports on those trends to local press in her area. Jill literally grew up in design, since her mother before her was also a designer and she has loved design as long as she can remember.
Enthusiasm about all things design fills Jill Trans lively conversation. It was a pleasure to speak with her and ot is easy to see how she inspires confidence. Designers are often called on for solutions to very unique problems on a regular basis. They need to be able to work through problems they have never seen before and imagine the possibilities, and 'carry on' . Jill has a sense of being artistically connected with the project outcome, which is why we are presenting her work here.
In our slide show we share several projects, including some before and after images that Jill has shared with us.
