International award-winning dancer and choreographer Jill Parker is coming to Pittsburgh the weekend May 31 - June 1, 2014 for a fabulous workshop.

Jill Parker is the founder of the modern Tribal Fusion belly dance movement. Former member of the famous Fat Chance Belly dance company, she founded the Ultra Gypsy dance company and is currently director of the Foxglove Sweethearts. She's from San Francisco, California, where she regularly instructs in Berkeley. She is known for her earthy shimmies.

Take the opportunity to study with one of the masters of this art form for a full weekend, over 9 hours of instruction. There will also be a gala show. The workshops will be held at the Pittsburgh Dance Center, 4765 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15224 (Bloomfield, above Starbucks). The full weekend is $180 or $70 each for a single workshop. Tickets for the show are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Festivities begin with the gala show on Friday night at the Rex Theatre, 1602 Carson Street, Pittsburgh 15203.

Saturday features two workshops. The first, from 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. is Spiral to the Core. The second, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. is the choreography to Lama Bada in Samaii, 10 Rhythm.

Sunday's workshop, from 2 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. is Beyond Rehearsal/Before Performance.
