Jill Duggar got married: Wedding registry included WD-40, cereal and guns

According to People magazine, Katie Couric and John Molner are not the only couple who got married on Saturday. The second daughter of Jim Bob, 48, and Michelle Duggar, 47, got married on Saturday as well. Jill, 23, married Derick Dillard, 25, before a congregation of more than 1,000 family and friends at the Cross Church in her hometown of Springdale, Arkansas. The couple sealed their wedding vows with their very first kiss. When the minister said, "Now you may kiss the bride" the couple had taken the word "now" literally because it was reported that the couple had never kissed before. In fact, they didn't hold hands until they were engaged. Both Jill and Derick had agreed to not kiss until after they were married.

The family you see on TLC's hit reality show "19 Kids & Counting" were part of the wedding party. Five of the bride's sisters were bridesmaids, two brothers were groomsmen, her sisters and a niece served as flower girls, five brothers were ushers and a brother and nephew shared ring-bearer responsibilities.

It was reported that it hit Jill's father hard that his daughter is leaving the nest, but he is glad Derick is the answer to Jill's prayers. Even though it is a joyous time for the household, it is also an emotional time. This is the first of the daughters to be married.

Jill's 10-year-old brother, Jackson said about his new brother-in-law, "I'm very excited at this wedding. Derick is like a brother already. He tells jokes [and] he plays around with us." The groom's mother is battling cancer and was too ill to attend the rehearsal dinner on Friday, but she was able to make it to the church for the wedding on Saturday.

The couple first met in Nepal after communicating with one another via email and Skype, and courted for one year after that. The newlyweds will honeymoon at an undisclosed location.

The public congratulates the newlyweds, but that doesn't stop people from wondering about the unusual items that were on the couple's Walmart wedding gift registry. Many people think the items were anything but conventional. The couple asked guests to buy them cereal, and they named the cereal they wanted: Kellogg's Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran Crunch, Hershey's Cookies and Creme along with other brands. Not only cereal, but they wanted WD-40, a Maverick Model 88 Pump Shotgun and a Smith & Wesson 811030 MP1522 Rifle.

According to their family show, another Duggar sister, Jessa, 20, is in a courtship with Ben Seewald, 19. Like Jill and Derick, they have agreed not to hold hands until they are engaged and not to kiss until they are married. We wonder if their wedding registry will be similar to Jill and Derick's.
