Jif To Go Dippers: A snack kids will love

See also

Jif has introduced a new product this summer, Jif To Go Dippers. It comes in two varieties, Creamy Peanut Butter with Pretzels and Chocolate Silk with Pretzels. Parents, group leaders and anyone else looking for a convenient take-along snack for children will find them a good choice, particularly since the snack is completely contained in one package and easily fits into a purse or pocket.

Each Jif To Go cup contains 1.13 ounces of either Creamy Peanut Butter or Chocolate Silk. The top portion contains 10 to 12 (.56 ounces) flat pretzels perfect for dipping.
Both products make an excellent bite for children or even adults.

Peanut butter well known to be a healthy snack, containing protein as well as magnesium, vitamin B6, potassium and vitamin E. Despite the fact that it contains some saturated fat, it is loaded with mono saturated fat and includes fiber, both of which help you feel full longer.

Though readers might think the Chocolate Silk variety is like giving kids candy, rest assured it is not. The first ingredient listed on the label is peanut butter. It does have more sugar than the Creamy Peanut Butter variety, but not nearly as much as one would think.

Most peanut butter contains at least some sugar. Jif To Go Dippers Creamy Peanut Butter with Pretzels contains 3 grams of sugar. The Jif To Go Dippers Chocolate Silk has 10 grams of sugar, but that is very little compared to other sugary snacks with little or no nutritional value.

The real issue, however, is will the children eat them. For that we turn to Miss Delilah, age three and one half, the official kids' treat taster of the Long Beach Food Examiner test kitchen. Miss Delilah enjoyed both treats very much. She found the pretzels crispy, tasty and easy to dip.

When it came to choosing a favorite between the two dipping cups, however, Miss Delilah preferred the Chocolate Silk, although she enjoyed the Creamy Peanut Butter variety as well. It is possible that she was not overly impressed by the Creamy Peanut Butter because Jif is the preferred brand of peanut butter in her home, served to her by her grandmother several days a week (She really likes peanut butter.)

To sum up, the Jif To Go Dippers Creamy Peanut Butter with Pretzels received three Miss Delilah smiles (good) and the Jif To Go Dippers Chocolate Silk with Pretzels received four Miss Delilah smiles (very good).

Both Jif To Go Dippers Creamy Peanut Butter with Pretzels and Jif To Go Chocolate Silk with Pretzels are currently available in grocery stores. The suggested retail price for an individual pack is $1.39 and $3.79 for a three-pack. To find out where to buy them, go to this Jif page.
