Jewish Federation to host children with special needs at the Urban Adamah farm

The Jewish Federation of the Greater East Bay will host A Day on the Farm with Urban Adamah on Sunday, October 9 from 10 am until noon. The group welcomes all families who have a child with special needs, and there is no charge for this event.

Children of all ages and abilities are invited to come and learn about the farm, harvest  vegetables and fruit, prepare food in the outdoor kitchen and get ready for the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot.

Urban Adamah (“earth” in Hebrew) is a community organic farm and Jewish environmental education center in Berkeley. Their mission combines organic farming, direct social justice work, and progressive Jewish living and learning. The produce grown is distributed to members of the community most in need, primarily through churches and local food banks.
