Grayce by Molly Sims, a jewelry collection by Molly Sims, first launched at Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, featured a glamorous selection of the fashion jewelry, from braided gold bracelets to layers of gold chains and chunky colored crystal earrings. And with fashion accessories such as these, in prices ranging from $75-$250, this fabulous jewelry collection invites you to get your glam on.
The jewelry collection is in part inspired by Molly Sims’ travels. “The last place I went was Mexico, which was great, ”That’s where I got all the purples and the turquoise - really bright and vibrant. I think where we are in the world, we need something fun and bright.” But, said Sims, her mother was the biggest inspiration for Grayce.
“My mother always taught me to be graceful and grateful, since I was about five [years old],” said Sims. She said they were the two things that you always needed to have. It doesn’t matter who you are, how much money you make, how pretty you are, how ugly you are - you can always be graceful and grateful. That’s where the name came from.”
Her mother’s lifelong jewelry collecting - “She’s collected jewelry for 30 years!” - also influenced Sims own all-American glamour girl-meets-bohemian gypsy style. “When I didn’t have any money, I had great jewelry,” she said. “I still pull from her, as well as yard sales and estate sales. It’s been great!”
An appearance on “Project Runway” gave Sims a taste of being on the other side of the runway - this time as a judge.
“You know, I’m completely made-over,” said Sims, whose chic ensemble from Etro and effortlessness in front of photographers that evening made it hard to believe there was ever a time when she wasn’t as stylish. “I’m from Kentucky, I’ve learned how to dress, how to put my makeup on, so I’m always learning and changing and learning from people, so that knowledge has been great [in order] to be able to help somebody else.”
