I love jewelery. Or bijoux, or joaillerie. Love. It. Right now I'm a passionate fan of Spanish jewelers Carrera y Carrera. It's classic over the top bling. I recently tried on a heavy gold and diamond clasp serpent bracelet, and it was everything. No wonder Julianne Hough wore the same bracelet out on the town in London recently. I mean it's only made with luxuriously thick yellow gold with white and chocolate diamonds.
Founded in the late 70s (an era known for decadence), the company was founded by Manuel Carrera. The goal was to create 'bold, innovative, original, and somehow bold' jewelery that would be as eye catching and iconic. From the beginning, Carrera y Carrera was a runaway international success. Today they are known as one of the 10 most prestigious jewellers in the world. Their headquartered in their original city, Madrid.
Inspiration comes from many sources. One recent collection was inspired by the film Actress Ava Gardner, who was legendary for her sultry beauty and her tempestuous relationship with husband Frank Sinatra. Gold, silver, and a multitude of diamonds form sinuous shapes for arms and neck. The feel is old-fashioned glamour and opulence.
With their 'Musica' collection, the brand bring the cadence and rhythm of Spanish music to life. Divided in to 4 categories ( Alegrias, Danza, Concerto, and Melodia) the jewelery is meant to symbolize the way in which music encircles and enriches us.
