Jets head coach Rex Ryan not involved in Jets GM interviews

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has had many headaches this season.

The team struggled with just a 6-10 record, as he had to field questions about quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow. Then, after the season when he goes on a vacation, he has to worry about his wife's tattoo that has a green jersey with a number 6 - something many people believe is a Sanchez jersey and the feature Tebowing.

Jets owner Woody Johnson has been trying to lessen Ryan's headaches by finding a new general manager. Mike Tannenbaum was fired after the season.

The team has interviewed several candidates for their GM position. According to Fox's Jay Glazer on Sunday, the team couldn't even give the job away.

However, in the first round of interviews, Ryan was not involved in those interviews. This is not all too unusual, though, but it refutes a previous claim.

There have been previous reports that say Ryan had problems with the GM's that would take the Jets job. But when contacting the Jets, a spokesman did not have much to say.

"No comment," said the team spokesman.
