In 1997 McLachlan co-founded the touring musical festival called "Lilith Fair", with Nettwerk Music Group's Dan Fraser and Terry McBride, and New York talent agent Marty Diamond, because she was irked that concert promoters and others in the music industry would not feature two female vocalists onRihanna (Getty Images) the same show, or a consecutive radio play list. Lilith Fair consisted of McLachlan and other touring female performers, including Paula Cole, Jewel, Suzanne Vega, and Lisa Loeb, among others, who were joined by local women artists at each venue, making every show and set list unique. It was, and remains, very successful.

This is the second year that JetBlue is sponsoring live concerts for passengers at its flagship JFK facility. This year's music roster at T5 has not yet been announced. Those performing in the concert series last year included Dan Dyer, Nicole Atkins, American Princes, Alberta Cross, Justin Townes Earle, and others. The low fare value airline last year also sponsored a free concert contest in New York City, with Rihanna (Robyn Rihanna Fenty), partnering with the mega star diva to promote travel and tourism to Barbados.  Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados.

The Airlines/Airport Examiner was privileged to meet Ms. McLachlan at a reception after a show at the Moore Theater in Seattle, and has also watched her perform previously at Lilith Fairs in California and Canada. If your travels take you through Terminal 5 tomorrow, July 29, it would be a treat to catch this free concert.

If you were lucky enough to be traveling through JFK today, and attended this concert, please leave first hand account comments, and give us a word picture of the event. I'm curious about the size of the audience, the sound quality, the set list, crowd reaction, what Sarah was wearing, and other details. Thanks!

I flew Jet Blue recently when Spirit was on strike and really liked them. This is a great idea.

How cool is that? I guess our little airport is on the right track with it's jazz series and other little concerts. Travelers like entertainment. Great article!
