JetBlue early morning fender bender: Real life 'Flight' collision at JFK?

USA Today reports that two commercial jets at New York’s Kennedy airport were involved in an accident early Saturday morning.

A JetBlue plane was bumped by an Air India aircraft. There were about 150 passengers on board planning on departing for West Palm Beach, Florida shortly.

According to a JetBlue spokesman, the Airbus 320 was at the gate waiting for a tow bar just after 6:00 a.m., when an Air India jet taxied into the area and clipped the the JetBlue plane's rudder, causing some damage.

Airline spokesman Alex Headrick states the passengers were loaded onto another plane because of the damage from the collision.

No injuries from the accident were reported.

The JetBlue departure was delayed at least three and a half hours.

With this mishap occurring on the heels of the successful and critically acclaimed film “Flight,” there will certainly be plenty of travelers wondering if the pilot was impaired.
